DVD Workout Review
Many workout reviews promise fast sessions, and intensity, but the P90X3, official site here, does deliver. The base kit that retails for less than $120.00 offers a 30-minute workout featuring Tony Horton’s Muscle Acceleration system. Those who want to have the same results as using a gym, or attending fitness training class, but who want to have this effect without spending an hour or more a day working on their abs will want to try this DVD. Most of the P90X line of videos isn’t for the faint of heart…or body, but this series is different. True life long couch potatoes will need to start out slowly, but most people who have reviewed this product agree just about everyone can start out with this base kit even if it’s necessary to use the modification suggested on some exercises.
16 Extreme Workouts
If the full kit DVD sounds pricey, then consider this is a 16-workout set. The problem with many workout DVD’s is no matter how enthusiastic you might be over results you get from a workout boredom eventually makes kicks in, and one day you find you can’t stand to hit the play button. The same words, the same moments of “this is the part I don’t care for much” keep replaying over and over. It takes a will of iron, and not necessary abs of steel to stay with it, not because of laziness, but due to the fact the human mind can only take being in a rut for so long without breaking.
16 different 30-minute workouts in the 8 DVD set gives you some variety. You can move through this base set that offers 4 different groups. In the same set of 8 DVDs you find Power Workouts, Cardio, Flexibility and Balance, and Resistance. P90X3, go to the official site clicking this link, keeps your interest not only with its fast pace, but because you can go at your own pace to some degree. You can move through several different programs and you won’t develop mental fatigue with the same workout every session. Personally, my own favorite is X3 Yoga, but keep in mind this is a workout to increase stamina, core strength and balance not to find your inner peace.
The Equipment You Need
Nothing is as disappointing as having your new workout DVD delivered and finding in the middle of the session you need a specific piece of equipment or gear to continue. You can plan ahead and have these items ready since they are listed on the DVD package. This basic set lists needed equipment as a chin-up bar and resistance bands or dumbbells. The weights should be 10 to 40 pounds for men, and 5 to 25 pounds for women. The list also states that other equipment such as a jump or yoga mat, and PowerStands is necessary. The mat needs to be one will not slide out from under you easily. Also recommended is the P90x Chin-Up Max, but there are modifications in the video so you can do without this if you already have a standard chin-up bar.

Extras in the Package
Everyone likes extras, and there are a few with P90X3. Wrapped inside the shrink-wrap along with the DVD box you will find a fitness guide and nutrition guide, workout calendar, and the “How to Accelerate” DVD. You will also find information on the 24/7 Online Support for the product. It’s always a good plan to hold on to the support information because it offers peer support. If you have a problem there’s a strong chance others using the DVD have experienced it as well, and they might have some good advice.

Reviews of P90X3 Base Kit
Most video workout series gradually build up to killer workouts, but in this case P90X1 and 2 are much harder to follow especially for those who aren’t conditioning fanatics. Couch potatoes could begin P90X2, but usually sold their copies to a friend within a week out of a sense of self-preservation, because this was a tough DVD.
This third DVD set will still test even those who are physically fit, but there are a number of modifications for those who need to work up to harder moves. Surprisingly, hardcore workout buffs aren’t put off by the explanations regarding modifications, and don’t mention these as distracting in their reviews. This is often the complaint in reviews regarding workout DVD’s, but not for this one. P90X3 does appear to deliver an intense enough work in an interesting form, and this holds the interest of veteran P90X’ers.
That’s not to say there isn’t some dissent among those who reviewed the DVD. Some did hope for an even more intense program then the first two, and this new entry doesn’t provide that. Several DVD’s in the pack do provide intensity especially in the cardio sessions, and it’s not a drastic drop for those who can handle the complete workout including the 12-minute warm-up portions, but this isn’t a build-up from the first two DVD packages. This is the best choice for someone who wants to start out and then build toward the other DVD’s in the P90X series. Find more about at Official Site Click Here
